Okori Emmanuel Chris was born in Lira, Uganda. His early life coincided with the period of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) conflict in Northern Uganda. Growing up during this time shaped his awareness of social disruption, displacement, and recovery within his community.
During his school years, he began to distinguish himself in drawing, recognizing art as a natural mode of expression. He later pursued higher education, where his technical abilities and conceptual interests developed further.
Okori works across multiple media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic work, and architectural forms. In his painting practice, he experiments with material combinations such as fiber, sand, palette knife application, and recycled elements. His visual references frequently draw from wildlife, human relationships, and environmental motifs.
His work reflects an ongoing engagement with themes of connection, separation, endurance, and relational identity, approached through symbolic imagery and figurative structure.
