Gabi Ilinetsky

Creative Director

As Creative Director at Borderless Canvas, I bring a lifelong passion for art, culture, and human connection to our mission of empowering artists and building bridges across borders through creative storytelling. I grew up in a family where art was a way of life. My mother, a classically trained artist from the former Soviet Union, founded her own art school over 23 years ago where I learned a wide range of visual arts from an early age. My father, an avid art and antique collector who has traveled to more than 100 countries, instilled in me a deep appreciation for the rich cultural stories that art preserves and shares.

My background combines creativity with leadership and a global perspective. I hold a B.A. in International Relations–Political Science from UC San Diego and a Master’s in Human Development & Educational Leadership. My career in teaching and leading multidisciplinary teams in early childhood and special education has reinforced my passion for celebrating people’s unique talents and helping them feel genuinely seen, heard, and valued. Art, like education, has the power to inspire meaningful connections. The most powerful stories are rooted in authenticity. In a world increasingly shaped by curated images and superficial connection, at Borderless Canvas I’m committed to cultivating meaningful experiences that honor artists’ personal stories, highlight the shared human experience, and affect positive change in people’s lives.
