Olafisoye Ifeoluwapo is a Nigerian self-taught artist whose practice has been shaped by sustained discipline and close observation. His earliest drawings began in school notebooks, where informal sketches gradually developed into a focused commitment to portraiture and realism.
Without formal training, he built his foundation through self-directed study, using brief periods of online research and tutorial learning to refine technique over time. This incremental process established a method rooted in patience, repetition, and technical control. A formative shift came when he acquired his first professional pencil set after years of saving, enabling a transition from exploratory sketching to a consistent studio practice.
Today, he works as an emerging independent artist while pursuing engineering studies at the Federal University of Technology Akure. Through commissioned portrait drawings and print sales, he continues to grow a sustainable practice while supporting his family.
His work centers on hyperrealistic graphite portrait drawing, with particular attention to tonal range, structural accuracy, and psychological presence. Across recent works, precision and sensitivity operate together: each piece is carefully resolved while retaining a distinctly human character.Olafisoye is building a long-term practice defined by self-direction, material rigor, and a clear commitment to artistic growth.
